Outdoor gear has gotten a little dramatic.
Some of it is built for real weather. Some of it seems built for standing near a coffee shop while looking like you might know a guy with a climbing van.

We make and choose simple outdoor gear for normal use: rain that shows up halfway through the day, chilly mornings, muddy campsites, wet dog walks, and the kind of trail where nobody needs to pretend they are on an expedition.
Useful first
Gear should do its job. A rain jacket should handle rain. A beanie should keep your head warm. A shirt should be comfortable, easy to wash, and not feel like a costume.
We care about materials, fit, care instructions, and price because those are the things people deal with after the photo is taken.
Fair prices
The outdoors should not feel like a private club with a gear fee at the door.
Good products still cost money. We know that. But we do not think every zipper, logo, and product name needs to sound like it came from a moon landing.
Our goal is useful gear at prices that make sense.
No fake toughness
You do not have to conquer anything to wear a jacket.
Most people just want to stay dry, stay warm, and get outside more often. That is enough.
